HOW IT WORKS?

Book the unit that works for you.  You are given a padlock and key for the unit and you keep the key so you can access the unit.  You are able to come to the unit during the opening hours listed below. When you are finished with the unit you simply return the keys and then cancel the subscription.

UNITS SIZES
There are 10 different unit sizes from floor space of 35sqft all the way up to 300sqft.

GROUND FLOOR OR UPPER LEVEL?
Most units are on ground floor but we have a few that are upstairs.  The upstairs units are lower cost.

WHAT ARE THE OPENING HOURS?
Monday - Friday    08:00 - 18:00
Saturday                09:00 - 17:30
Sunday                  10:00 - 17:00

HOW CLOSE TO MY UNIT CAN I PARK?
Almost all our units are drive up units meaning you can park right next to the door of the unit.  This makes it quicker and easier to load/unload. 

IS THE SECURITY GOOD?
Your units are very secure.  The units are secure with strong padlocks and also natural security since there is only one access in which goes past our house and with people and dogs about and overlooked.  We have done storage here for 50 years and have never had an incident. 

WHAT CAN I STORE?
Our storage is ideal for household goods, tools, business items, archive storage, classic car storage, motorhome and caravan storage.  We have small units and very large 300sqft units. 

WHAT CAN I NOT STORE?
A lot comes down to common sense here, but we do not allow:
- petrol, diesel (if in a vehicle tank then this is ok)
- explosives
- living things
- illegal goods
- firearms

PADLOCKS
We give you free use of our padlocks.  You must only use our padlocks since we use very strong anti-tamper padlocks.

BOOKINGS AND RESERVATIONS


CAN I BOOK ONLINE?
Yes you can.  Simply follow the online instructions and complete your booking.  The booking can be made either from your PC, tablet or mobile.  You will need your debit or credit card handy.

CAN I RESERVE A UNIT AND MOVE IN LATER?
Yes you can do this and most customers do this.  It is free to reserve the unit and you only pay when you move in.  Your card details are taken at the reservation stage but if you decide to cancel before the move in date you can do this and there is no charge. 
It is advisable to reserve before you move in due to demand.  It is unlikely your unit size will be available on the day you move in unless you reserve in advance.
 
CAN I CANCEL MY RESERVATION IF I CHANGE MY MIND?
Yes you can.  You are only charged on the day you move in so you can cancel the subscription before you move in.  

HOW DO I PAY?
We accept debit and credit cards.  We do not accept cash or bank transfer.  If you reserve your unit we pre-authorise your bank card (no payment taken) so the card is ready for the payment to be taken automatically on the day you move in.  The card payment is taken by direct debit every month on the same date until such a time as you move out.  

WHAT IS THE PAYMENT FREQUENCY?
Monthly.  This is taken automatically on the same date each month for the forward month.

HOW DO I STOP MY PAYMENTS?
This is simple.  You just need to remove your items from your unit and return the key and then inform us you have done so.  We will then check the unit and cancel your subscription.  This process takes up to four days depending on whether it is a weekday or public holiday/weekend.

HOW DO I CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION?
It is very simple. You remove your belongings from your unit, put the padlock and key back inside the unit, then call us to inform us you can done this and we will check the unit and collect the padlock and key and we cancel the subscription.  This process takes between 1-4 days depending if it falls on a weekday or public holiday/weekend. 

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM RENTAL PERIOD?
There is no minimum as such but the minimum payment is the equivalent of one month's rent.

HOW TO FIND YOU?


We are in Great Somerford, SN15 5EH.  Four miles south of Malmesbury and seven miles north of Chippenham.  We are only three miles from junction 17 of M4.  

INSURANCE


DO I NEED CONTENTS INSURANCE?
It is compulsory to have insurance for the contents.  We offer insurance up to a maximum of £2,500 if under our policy.  Or you can take insurance with your own insurance underwriter.  We would need to see this policy to ensure you have cover for your contents.  

WHAT IS SELF STORAGE USEFUL FOR?


Self storage is being increasing used for a variety of uses.  These include:

1. MOVING HOUSE 
2. SELLING HOUSE - putting some belongings into storage in preparation for photos of their house 
3. HOUSE RENOVATION/REDECORATION - useful to empty part of the house to allow for renovations to take place and keep the items clean from dust. 
4. MORE SPACE/DECLUTTER - to declutter or create more space for yoga, dancing, extra space etc. 
5. DOWNSIZING - common use where items can be parked until needed later or for other family members. 
6. CHILDREN LEAVING HOME - Clearing out space after children leave home. 
7. SEASONAL STORAGE - camping kit, awnings, sea sports and other sports kit.
8. INHERITANCE - store items to allow time to go through them.
9. BUSINESS - for valuable tools, materials.
10.  BUSINESS  office goods, moving business premises.
11. BUSINESS - stock and inventory of goods.
